A radio talk show host in Phoenix responded to criticism after she referred to President Barack Obama as a “monkey” and saying that she “voted for the white guy” in the 2008 presidential election by clarifying that she’s not a racist.

It’s official: Barbara Espinosa can now officially be declared “The First Person To Call Obama a ‘Monkey’ That Isn’t Racist.”

Prompting Espinosa’s racist remarks was a caller to her show “Hair on Fire,” who referred to Obama as, “that rabbit ears guy who’s sitting in the White House.”

“I call him a monkey…I don’t call him ‘guy with rabbit ears,’ I call him a monkey and…I don’t believe in calling him the first black president…I voted for the white guy myself,” said the self-proclaimed ‘not-racist’ Espinosa, ending with a reference to Sen. John McCain.

In an online comment-turned-discussion section of a blog post about Arizona politics and reporters, Espinosa clarified her reasoning for referring to Obama as a monkey, saying, “The comment was prompted by the google image cartoon that was sent to me,” with a link to these search results.

She later went on to explain how, “with a last name of Espinosa I’m anything but racist.”

What’s even more freakish is that while Espinosa went on her racist rant, she was joined on the line by Tom Morrissey, the current Chair of the Arizona Republican Party.

Hey, at least she didn’t ask Obama for his papers, right? That’s a start.

GOProud, ‘an organization of gay and straight Americans seeking to promote freedom by supporting free markets, limited government, and a respect for individual rights,’ announced this morning that it endorses and will commit significant resources to electing Mitt Romney as president.

If that isn’t a big middle finger to President Obama, who in early May announced his support for same-sex marriage, we’re not sure what is.

And that’s not all that Obama’s done to support LGBT equality. In 2009, he ordered the federal government to extend key benefits to same-sex partners. In 2010, he signed the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” which he then implemented in 2011.

So it only makes sense, for an organization that seeks to promote ‘a respect for individual rights,’ to throw their hands up and support a presidential nominee who is opposed to gay marriage. Because gay marriage, after all, is not an ‘individual right…’

We salute GOProud for ignoring nonparitsan realities and sticking to their ridiculous ideologies. Cheers to you, GOProud!

Across the street from where the press conference took place is an elementary school whose kindergarten class chose to replace “God Bless the USA” with the Justin Bieber hit “Baby” at the class’s graduation ceremony earlier this month.

While there were no complaints from NYC’s Department of Education, there sure were some from this New York politician and his buddies.

Staten Island Congressman Michael Grimm voiced his discontent with the switcharoo in a statement his office sent out last week: “Rep. Grimm: Justin Bieber is not a Substitute for American Patriotism.”

On Monday, Turner gathered with dozens of young children in a spot adjacent to the school where he and his loyal youngsters sang “God Bless the USA” while waving American flags in the air.

Apparently every other problem in the city, state, and world had been addressed, so they were free to break out the faux patriotism for this really important cause.

Hecklers interrupted the song and were met with disagreements from Turner’s staff, which were in turn met with patriotic chants from Turner’s young supporters.

The next time we see Americans exercising their freedom of speech, we hope not to see politicians exploiting American youth who are in turn to be criticized and forced to engage with grown adults of different “political” beliefs.
