On Tuesday night, the White House Music Series paid tribute to the blues in recognition of Black History Month. Music legends like Mick Jagger, Buddy Guy, B.B. King and Booker T. Jones joined President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in a makeshift club in the East Room of the White House.

After Buddy Guy urged the president to continue his singing ways after his “Let’s Stay Together” performance at the Apollo Theater, Jagger handed the microphone over to Obama.

Looking at his competition, the president doesn’t exactly have many reasons to sing the blues.

Keb Mo, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, Gary Clark Jr., Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks also performed at the White House. The full concert will air nationwide on PBS on Monday, February 27.
